Quick Method for Cleaning the Shower Head
So the mineral deposits have built up on your shower head so it sprays wonky, but you aren't a plumber and don't want to pull out the wrench. Haley Homemaker tells of this quick and easy method for cleaning out much of the deposits (more of the outer ones). This is also what I advice my customers to do.
As she says in this video, take some straight vinegar poured into a plastic bag. Then wrap the bag around the shower head and secure with a hair or rubber band.
Leave it for a few hours then remove the vinegar-filled bag. If you want to be a little more detailed, use a toothbrush to scrub around the holes. Then flush with water by turning on the shower. Do that for a few minutes. In reading the comments for this video, I see some tried it on rubbed bronze and damaged their fixture. So, don't do that.
You've likely seen recommendations to use vinegar for many things. Here's 10 uses for vinegar that you may not have thought of.
